Rest Day 2

15/3/15
If it's a rest day there must be a castle to visit! Allt y Rheini B&B just outside Cilgerran was an excellent place to stay and my favourite so far. We walked down to the river Teifi which winds it's way down to Cardigan 4km to the north. The river is tidal up to Cilgerran and there was a display of the Coracle fishing which prevailed up until the 1930's. The coracle fishermen would work in pairs dragging the net between two boats.

From the Teifi gorge we climbed up to the castle with good views down the gorge.

Then on  to St Llawddog's church to see the ancient stone inscribed in Ogham and Latin.

Another couple of km walk took us to the Glasshouse restaurant at a wildlife centre where we spent a few lazy hours before returning to our manor house and some planning for the next week.
