14/3/15
It was cold and grey when we left but the daffodils, gorse and Sue's yellow bike were all in unison.
The climbs in the first hour or two were hard but the sun came out and warmed us apart from, as usual, my toes.
We said goodbye to the NCN 4 and switched to the 82 at Fishguard which took us up the enchanting Cwm Gwaun which cleverly gained altitude up the river without much effort.
A later valley, equally beautiful, did not afford us the same luxury and gave us some steep climbs in the later part of the day. After collecting some evening provisions at Cilgerran stores, we approached our B&B on a moss covered drive to another magnificent house.
The 4 poster bed and armchairs in the bay window of our room were perfect for the forthcoming rest day.
Local beer and cheese with this view was fine for an evening in.
