New Luce

23/4/15
Another warm sunny day as we left Kirkcolm. The removal of the ferry terminal at Stranraer to Cairnryan up the coast has been controversial but it seems to have left Stranraer with a calmness that I am sure did not exist when the large trucks used to pile in to town.
The A77 carries all this ferry traffic so we are leaving the coast for a couple of days to cycle on smaller inland and hilly roads until we reach Ayr.
We paused at the tea shop at Castle Kennedy gardens for tea and used the strong free wifi to complete student finance forms (for Joe) then enjoyed a gentle climb inland over the moors to the Kenmuir Arms in New Luce where we sat in the sun by the river in the pub garden.

Figures:
Distance:- 27.2 km
Cycle Time:- 2 hours 0 minutes
Average speed:- 13.5 kph
Total Distance:- 1856 km
