Edinburgh

12/6/15

The mini heat-wave continued and we had immaculate cycle tracks hugging the Firth of Forth to the grand bridge.

The scene of high visibility toddlers out and about with young nursery teachers was becoming familiar. This idealic scene in Dalgety Bay was followed 4km later by signs in Inver Bay that there had been radioactive contamination discovered in the water- I wonder if that had been written into the risk assessment!

This was a building stress for Sue but she made across the bridge in her own time and with the sun shine.

Some strong coffee in the classy Queensferry South was needed after the crossing.

Our route into Edinburgh city was amazing. Through the Dalmeny estate and on tarmaced old railway line to within a few km from Pollock Halls where we were booked for two nights.

Edinburgh was enjoying the heat and we had a good meal in the Salisbury Arms close to the halls.

Figures:
Distance:- 47.1 km
Cycle Time:- 3 hours 58 minutes
Average speed:- 11.8 kph
Total Distance:- 3699 km
