Broughty Ferry, Dundee

9/6/15
Summer is here, the Broom is in full colour but Sue's cycle gloves have, however left their mark!

Some rolling hills brought us to Arbroath and we could not miss the opportunity of purchasing some Smokies. Once stashed in one of my panniers, I was concious of the aroma of the smoked haddock attracting interest from Gulls and roaming cats.

We stopped for coffee in the Old Boatyard restaurant with views out to the distant Bell Rock lighthouse.

Our onward journey was flat and easy. Good surfaced cycle tracks and a tailwind took us to the tiny village of East Haven which was sufficiently secluded for our Queen Elizabeth to enjoy some childhood beach time and had an amazingly well kept public loo!

After the seemingly infinite golf links of Carnoustie, we arrived in the posh part of Dundee. Broughty Ferry has an array of good shops and places to eat so we opted to celebrate 101 days of journey with a set tapas at Sol y Sombra.

Figures:
Distance:- 49.5 km
Cycle Time:- 3 hours 35 minutes
Average speed:- 13.7 kph
Total Distance:- 3544 km
